Ka’u, Hawai’i, USA (2024-ongoing)
The project has established three on-farm demonstration plots to educate underserved coffee farmers in Ka’u about new cultivation techniques and risk management. Workshops and a custom recordkeeping book have been provided to motivate farmers to adopt effective strategies against pests like coffee berry borers (CBB) and coffee leaf rust (CLR).




California, USA (2024-ongoing)
In collaboration with the California Agave Council, this project is collecting data to analyze the costs, revenues, and profits of growing agave over a six-year cycle. This endeavor aims to evaluate if agave can be a climate-smart and income-generating crop.






Midwest, USA (2022-2024)
A survey was distributed to around 1,350 farmers living in three Midwest states (Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin) to explore how farmers responded to short-run labor supply shocks during Covid-19 and understand whether farmers’ adaptation to recent labor shortages mitigated the effect of Covid-19 on agricultural production.


Vietnam (2017-2018)
Data collection of a random sample of 800 rice growing households living in seven provinces in the Mekong River Delta (Kien Giang, Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Tra Vinh, Ben Tre, and Tien Giang) to examine the factors associated with farmers’ adoption of salt-tolerant rice varieties.
